Before you come

Prepare your appointment

A well-prepared first appointment saves time and makes the advice more precise. Here are the useful documents to gather, depending on your situation. None of them is essential for a first meeting: bring what you have, and the office will complete the list with you.

In all cases

  • A valid identity document (national identity card or passport) for each person concerned.
  • Family record book (livret de famille), marriage contract or PACS agreement, divorce judgment where applicable.
  • Recent proof of address.
  • Your latest tax notice when the project has a tax dimension (estate planning, investment, company).
  • Your questions, objectives and desired timetable, written down in advance.

  • For works that may fall under the ten-year builder’s warranty (garantie décennale): invoices from the contractors involved
  • For works requiring authorisation from the co-owners or under planning rules: copies of the authorisations obtained, in particular minutes of general meetings, building permits or prior declarations

How to send your documents

After your first contact, the office will tell you which documents to provide and how to send them. Please do not attach confidential documents to the website’s contact form. Depending on the matter, you may be asked for the originals at an appointment or at the signing.

On the day of the appointment

The first appointment usually lasts between thirty minutes and one hour. You explain your situation and the notary outlines the possible solutions, the stages, the time limits and an estimate of the costs. You leave with a precise list of what remains to be gathered. The appointment can take place at the office, by telephone or by video call.

These lists are indicative: they do not replace the specific requests the office will send you after reviewing your matter.
